Sustainable Urban Mobility Congress - SUM Bilbao19
SUM Bilbao 19 es la primera edición de un evento internacional que nace con el objetivo de liderar la reflexión global sobre el futuro de la movilidad y su impacto en el logro de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en las ciudades del siglo XXI.
Más de 40 ponentes debatirán sobre aspectos estratégicos para la construcción y consolidación de sistemas de movilidad urbana sostenibles, en torno en tres (3) ejes temáticos: políticas públicas, tecnología e innovación y oportunidades para el desarrollo.
En esta ocasión, la organización corre a cargo del Ayuntamiento de Bilbao, ciudad referente mundial en procesos de transformación urbana, y de Petronor, empresa energética comprometida con el desarrollo económico y social del País Vasco. Ambos conscientes de la necesidad de abordar los problemas más urgentes y profundos de la movilidad a nivel global, así como también las oportunidades que esta representa.
Contará con la presencia de expertos y expertas mundiales en el ámbito de las ciudades y administraciones públicas, empresas y start-ups, centros tecnológicos y universidades.
Como resultado de este encuentro, además del intercambio de experiencias y conocimientos, a través de la Declaración de Bilbao se dispondrá de un instrumento programático que trace puentes entre las políticas y las prácticas de la movilidad actual, hacia modelos alineados con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible y Agenda 2030.
SUM Bilbao 2019 tendrá lugar en el Palacio Euskalduna en la ciudad de Bilbao, País Vasco, España los días 20 y 21 de febrero de 2019.

Smart Mobility Congress
The Smart Mobility Congress (SMC) is a premiere event that gathers multi-sectorial experts and industry practitioners to develop connections and business, discuss case studies and promote network among peers. This year the event focuses on The Next Move, showcasing new solutions and looking at how smart mobility is reshaping our cities, with its ultimate goal to help accelerate development of mobility products, services and projects and shorten their go-to-market time; and help tackle the urban mobility challenges faced by modern cities and economies.
SMC is a co-located event with the Smart City Expo World Congress, sharing a joint exhibit floor that in 2017 welcomed more than 675 exhibiting companies and 18,754 international attendees to address the challenge of the mobility of citizens. The Smart Mobility Congress will take place annually; this year from 13-15 November.

UCLG World Council 2018
The UCLG World Council will be held on 5-8 November in Madrid, Spain, under the invitation of the Mayor of the city, Manuela Carmena.
The World Council will be held in the framework of the 2nd World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace. The Madrid World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace is a meeting place for local leaders, international organisations and networks, the academic world, NGOs and civil society.
Its purpose is to open a joint process of debate, reflection and construction of common solutions that foster urban environments capable of eliminating expressions of violence.

Conseil Mondial de CGLU 2018
Les réunions du Conseil mondial 2018 de CGLU auront lieu du 5 au 8 novembre à Madrid, Espagne, à l'aimable invitation de la Maire de la ville, Manuela Carmena.
Le Conseil Mondial se tiendra dans le cadre du 2ème Forum mondial sur les violences urbaines et l’éducation pour la cohabitation et la paix de Madrid qui se veut un lieu de rencontre entre les leaders locaux et régionaux, les organismes et les réseaux internationaux, l’académie, l’ONGD et la société civile.
Il est destiné à ouvrir un processus conjoint de débat, de réflexion et de construction de solutions qui promeut des environnements urbains capables d’enrayer les expressions de violence.

Le Conseil mondial est le principal organe d’élaboration des politiques de l’Organisation mondiale. Il adopte les orientations de l’Organisation mondiale et veille à la mise en œuvre des grandes orientations décidées par l’Assemblée générale.

Consejo Mundial de CGLU 2018
El Consejo Mundial de CGLU se celebrará del 5 al 8 de noviembre en Madrid, España, bajo la invitación de la alcaldesa de la ciudad, manuela Carmena.
El consejo Mundial se celebrará en el marco del segundo Foro Mundial sobre las Violencias Urbanas y Educación para la Convivencia y la Paz de Madrid se concibe como un lugar de encuentro entre líderes locales, organismos y redes internacionales, academia, ONGD y sociedad civil.
El foro está destinado a abrir un proceso conjunto de debate, reflexión y construcción de soluciones que fomenten entornos urbanos capaces de eliminar las expresiones de violencia.

World Cities Day 2018
The United Nations General Assembly has designated the 31st of October as World Cities Day, by its resolution 68/239. The Day is expected to greatly promote the international community’s interest in global urbanization, push forward cooperation among countries in meeting opportunities and addressing challenges of urbanization, and contributing to sustainable urban development around the world.
2017 Theme: Innovative Governance, Open Cities
The general theme of World Cities Day is Better City, Better Life, while each year a different sub-theme is selected, to either promote successes of urbanization, or address specific challenges resulting from urbanization.
This year, the United Nations has selected the theme Innovative Governance, Open Cities to highlight the important role of urbanization as a source of global development and social inclusion.
The main event will be celebrated in Liverpool, UK.

Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF)
The Global Social Economy Forum GSEF is an international network that brings together local governments and civil society stakeholders committed to supporting the development of the Social Economy (SE). Through the collaboration between social economy organizations and local governments, the GSEF pursues creation of quality jobs, fair growth, progress of grassroots democracy, and sustainable development. Values such as human dignity and sustainable ecology are to be the underlying principles for every activity of the GSEF.
Welcomed by the Mayor of Seoul, Won-Soon Park, the GSEF reaches its 4th edition with the central theme “values and competitiveness for an inclusive and sustainable local development”.
