Sustainable Urban Mobility Congress – SUM Bilbao19 – Comisión de Ciudades Digitales y del Conocimiento

SUM Bilbao 19 es la primera edición de un evento internacional que nace con el objetivo de liderar la reflexión global sobre el futuro de la movilidad y su impacto en el logro de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en las ciudades del siglo XXI.

Más de 40 ponentes debatirán sobre aspectos estratégicos para la construcción y consolidación de sistemas de movilidad urbana sostenibles, en torno en tres (3) ejes temáticos: políticas públicas, tecnología e innovación y oportunidades para el desarrollo.

En esta ocasión, la organización corre a cargo del Ayuntamiento de Bilbao, ciudad referente mundial en procesos de transformación urbana, y de Petronor, empresa energética comprometida con el desarrollo económico y social del País Vasco. Ambos conscientes de la necesidad de abordar los problemas más urgentes y profundos de la movilidad a nivel global, así como también las oportunidades que esta representa.

Contará con la presencia de expertos y expertas mundiales en el ámbito de las ciudades y administraciones públicas, empresas y start-ups, centros tecnológicos y universidades.

Como resultado de este encuentro, además del intercambio de experiencias y conocimientos, a través de la Declaración de Bilbao se dispondrá de un instrumento programático que trace puentes entre las políticas y las prácticas de la movilidad actual, hacia modelos alineados con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible y Agenda 2030.

SUM Bilbao 2019 tendrá lugar en el Palacio Euskalduna en la ciudad de Bilbao, País Vasco, España los días 20 y 21 de febrero de 2019.

SUM Bilbao 19 is the first edition of an international event which aims to lead a global reflection on the future of mobility and its impact on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the cities of the 21st century.

More than 40 speakers are expected to participate, who will address the main strategic aspects for the construction and consolidation of sustainable urban mobility systems, around three thematic axes: public policies, technology and innovation, and opportunities for development.

SUM Bilbao 2019 is jointly organized by the City Council of Bilbao, an international benchmark in urban transformation processes, and Petronor, a local energy company committed to the economic and social development of Basque Country. Both stakeholders are aware of the need for addressing the most urgent and concerning global issues about mobility, as well as its opportunities.

The event will bring together leading international experts from different sectors related to cities and urban mobility: local governments, international organizations, private companies, start-ups, technological centres and universities.

In addition to the exchange of knowledge and experiences, the main outcome of this meeting will be the signing of the “Bilbao Declaration”, an agreement that builds bridges between current mobility policies and practices and sets out the path towards models aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030.

It will take place at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in the city of Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain on 20 and 21 February 2019.
