STUDY 2023
The fifth edition of the “Smart Cities Study 2023” focuses on cities as innovation-driven ecosystems, spaces for collaboration and creativity in which pilot projects are generated in response to social and economic challenges. These projects drive R+D+i from a public-private perspective, and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The fourth, and most recent edition, focused on the resilience of cities, in particular, analyzing how the COVID-19 pandemic provoked cities to adopt “Smart” measures to fight negative effects generated by the pandemic, as well as contribute to the improvement of their resilience.
This edition focused on the “GOVERNANCE” axis. It analyzed the main components to smart governance, and their main areas of action, open government, and advanced strategic management in cities, as factors in the transformation of Smart Cities.
The second edition of the study focused on the “ECONOMY” axis, which analyzed key factors linked to Smart Cities in areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship; knowledge and talent; and digital society and economy.
The first edition of the study offers a “HOLISTIC” vision of Smart Cities, in which six key axes of action converge to affect the development of cities: Economy, Citizenship, Governance, Mobility, Environment and Quality of Life.
